Its a great workout.

I am one of the original founding members of Compasion Combat. We started as an extremely small group training outside at Earl Bales park in the spring and summer. I was introduced to Zechariah by a mutual friend at a music event at Earl Bales. We often got and continue to get into deep philosophical discussions about the similarities between religions and the meaning of life.

I have a thing for live guitar from time to time when the talented MMA instructor is in the mood to play his songs and that’s the main reason I come out to training.

We met each other through a mutual love of Japanese samurai martial arts, swords, culture and playing and singing together and I enjoy our duo and preserving “the band” and keeping this musical connection up. I often organize social and networking events and Zechariah has been happy to bring out his guitar and entertain everyone at some of my campfire jam sessions.
The boxing instructor, Rachel is very talented and patient with students of all levels. She recently had her first Semi-Pro MMA fight.
She also plays drums and guitar.  A love for people, philosophy, training and acoustic music unites us. She also knows other martial arts.

Compassion Combat

Definitely a place worth going to.
A place of growth, development and happy people.

I think everyone could use a sport to play or an activity to partake in for their every day lives. If martial arts is your sport or activity then Compassion Combat is for you. I didn’t realize how much I missed MMA until I ran into Sensai Zechariah. Since joining I go to his class as much as I can. I bring my little brother with me as well whenever he’s free. I love the workout and the people. I especially love increasing my skills as a martial artist. I always feel the urge to compete with the best in order to improve myself and my skills. We have a lot of very skilled fighters with which whom I like to go head to head with. Of course we also practice safely. If you’re new to martial arts or are feeling like going light nobody will be looking out to be hard or tough on you.

I can’t wait to see you there.

Compassion Combat has evolved me into a better version of myself

I met my master Zechariah Soroka about 4 years ago

I was in a very bad place

I had no job and was very depressed

I lacked motivation and didn’t believe in myself

Master Zechariah taught me the ways of compassion and self love

He taught me a few different styles of martial arts including Brazilian Jiu Jitsu kickboxing boxing and some tae kwon do

He taught me how to be a better man

Not with my fists and toughness

With my soul

He taught me honour and respect for the world  and nature itself

Now I like to believe I’m a soldier of Compassion Combat and peace

I’m hoping as long as my heart is beating and my soul is in my physical body to continue my journey

After only a couple of years of training with Zechariah and Compassion Combat my life became much more positive

I got a new legit girlfriend and a new job

I now thankfully have everything going well for myself

He taught me the most wisest lesson of all

This is the balance of life

Life is always good

Then it will end up bad

Though in the end

We will see that whatever was bad was always for the best

Zechariah is still teaching me to this day how to stay peaceful and maintain a healthy balance

That was the most powerful teaching I took from Compassion Combat

Thank you Master Zechariah”

”I’ve been training with Zechariah for more than two years now. He is a great martial artist on and off the mats. I can honestly say with complete certainty that he is very technical and is able to break down difficult techniques into easy to understand detailed steps. He has mixed martial arts cage fighting experience as well as profound knowledge in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Wrestling Dutch Style Kickboxing and MMA. Being an experienced blue belt and having trained Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for more than eight years I still learn something new every day from Sensai Zechariah. He is highly recommended as an instructor.

Best regards
